In addition to log entries, you should find icons indicating human detection and Sentry alerts from the clip list.
Once you are ready to subscribe, from your Blue Iris software camera properties/Trigger dialog, click “Learn More” link in the dialog to redirect to the purchase page.

You can cancel the plan anytime during your subscription. If you are on a monthly plan, we will stop the recurring payment from the next month, and for the current month that is paid for, you can still enjoy the service through the end of the month. If you are on a yearly plan, we will refund you the charges for remaining months on a pro-rata basis. You will be able to enjoy the service till the end of the current month that would be considered as paid for already.

Daily Smart Reports is an email we send at the end of the day that summarizes all the key activities that Sentry caught outside of your house in one photo. If there were more than 7 important triggers, you will receive a time-lapse of this report. The report also explains the number of images we processed to help you filter for the potentially important alerts and much more!
With the Blue Iris integration, you will receive alerts through the Blue Iris alerting system as configured by you – mobile app, website or desktop software, email, SMS/text. Sentry does not send alerts directly to you.
We are getting 3-sec response when no one is identified and up to 6 sec round trip response time when people are identified. Variables like internet connection speed can improve or affect performance. We are working on an on-premise solution that runs on your PC, alongside Blue Iris to provide a faster response.
Sentry uses best-in-class AI to identify people in the images and filters out all alerts where people are not present. In addition, our AI suppresses redundant alerts when we recognize an “event” has already been detected and alerted upon. For example, if the kids are playing in the backyard, the backyard camera will send an alert the first time the activity is detected. However, if the kids are playing for 30 minutes, you will not receive alerts for the next 30 minutes while the kids continue to play. The software is smart enough to know it is the same “event”.
Sentry processes images sent by Blue Iris software on powerful GPU-based servers in the cloud. This is mainly because our AI requires a GPU to process the images quickly to ensure we send a response to you as fast as we can. In future, we will provide a Blue Iris plugin that is optimized to run on a general PC with CPU that will provide such an assessment locally.
Blue Iris software uses Sentry API to send images from the cameras and receive AI-processed results quickly and securely. Enabling the functionality is just a single mouse-click on a checkbox. No further setup required. All alerts are sent via the Blue Iris communication channels chosen by the user: mobile app, desktop software, text/SMS or email.
With your current Blue Iris software, you may get many alerts triggered by motion (light changing, pet running, leaf falling, etc) which are non-relevant alerts. With Sentry Smart Alerts, you will receive fewer but more meaningful alerts that keep your mind at ease. With Smart Alerts turned on, instead of checking your videos only after something happens, you will be able to respond to unusual activity as it unfolds.
Go to the “Support” tab at the top of our website and then click on the “Contact Support” button on the following page. This will prompt you to create a support ticket which will help us personally transition you from one of these plans to another.
After making a payment, you will receive an invitation to join our subscription portal. Follow the instructions in the email to set the password and create an account to manage your subscriptions. You can update your information, payment method and cancel your subscription anytime using the portal. As of now, you need a working version of Blue Iris software – trial or paid – to receive Sentry Smart Alerts.
You will have the same features for both the monthly and yearly plan. On the yearly plan, you can save more by subscribing for the whole year. Or you can start monthly, and you can change from monthly to yearly whenever you like.
The Sentry Smart Alert trial program lets you experience the cool security features made possible with the latest AI technologies. As an existing Blue Iris user, setup of Smart Alerts is simple. The trial is totally free and you can cancel anytime during the trial for no charge. After the trial, you have an option to continue Sentry service by subscribing to one of our plans and ensure peace of mind.
