Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 25, 2026

Smart Sentry AI (“us”, “we”, or “our”) operates the Smart Sentry AI website (the “Service”).

This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information when you use our Service.

We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy. We do not share/sell personal data (phone numbers) and consent with third parties / affiliates or partners.

We use your Personal Information for providing and improving the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions.

Information Collection And Use

While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”) may include, but is not limited to:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Telephone number

Log Data

We collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Service (“Log Data”). This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics.

Cookies

Cookies are files with small amount of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a web site and stored on your computer’s hard drive.

We use “cookies” to collect information. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Service.

Location Data

We collect location information through the mobile application only when the Tracker feature is enabled. This data is used exclusively for the Guard Tracking functionality. Location tracking begins only after the user explicitly activates it by pressing the “Track” button in the top-right corner of the app. Users have full control and can disable tracking at any time, at which point location data collection will stop.

Ring Camera Video and Images

Where a customer connects a Ring device to the Service, we collect video recordings and still images captured by that device, together with the event information associated with them, such as the time of the recording and the device it came from. We collect this media only after the customer authorises the connection, and collection stops when that authorisation is withdrawn.

This media is processed by automated systems (“AI processing”) in the cloud in order to detect and classify events — for example identifying people and vehicles, recognising behaviour such as tailgating, and flagging personal-safety incidents. That processing is what generates the alerts shown in the command centre and in the user application. Where responding to an alert requires it, the events derived from that media may be reviewed by monitoring personnel.

Sentry personnel do not have access to Ring-sourced media, live feeds, or user credentials. Credentials are encrypted and accessible only by the authenticated customer. Sentry staff cannot view customer camera feeds or snapshots under any standard operational circumstances unless the customer explicitly grants temporary, audited access for troubleshooting.

Ring and the Ring logo are trademarks of Ring LLC or its affiliates, used here to identify the devices this Service connects to. Ring operates its own service under its own terms, and what Ring itself collects and does with your data is described in its privacy notice at ring.com/privacy-notice. This Privacy Policy covers only what Sentry AI does with media once a customer connects a device to the Service.

AI-Derived Data

Processing the media described above produces data about that media rather than copies of it. This “AI-derived data” includes the classification given to an event, the detection attributes recorded against it — including any custom attributes configured for a site — the confidence score the system assigned to a detection, the time and device the event came from, and the alert record itself.

We use this data to raise alerts, to let operators and customers work and review those alerts, and to give a customer a history of activity at their sites. It is held in our alert records, separately from the recordings and images it was derived from, and it is kept for longer than they are — see Data Retention below.

Data Retention

Video recordings and images collected from connected Ring devices are retained for 14 days by default. At the end of that period they are deleted. A customer may request a different retention period for their account by contacting us.

AI-derived data — event classifications, detection attributes, confidence scores and the alert records themselves — is retained for 6 months. It therefore outlives the media it was derived from: once the 14 days have passed the recording is gone, while the record of what was detected, and when, remains for the rest of the 6 months.

The other information described in this Privacy Policy is retained for as long as is necessary to provide the Service and to meet our legal obligations.

Deleting Your Data

A customer may ask us to delete the data we hold for their account by contacting us. On such a request we delete the recordings and images, the AI-derived data described above, and the account information associated with them, except where we are required to keep something in order to meet a legal obligation.

Disconnecting a device or removing an integration stops any further collection from it. Reconnecting an integration that was previously removed begins new collection and creates new records from that point onwards; it does not restore data that has already been deleted.

Service Providers

We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service, to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services or to assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.

These third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

Mobile/Phone numbers

No mobile information will be shared/sell with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Security

The security of your Personal Information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Links To Other Sites

Our Service may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit.

We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites or services.

Children’s Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18 (“Children”).

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us. If we discover that a child under 18 has provided us with Personal Information, we will delete such information from our servers immediately.

Compliance With Laws

We will disclose your Personal Information where required to do so by law or subpoena.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.

You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
