Terms and Conditions

Last updated: September 30, 2026

Please read these Terms of Use (“Terms”, “Terms of Use”) carefully before using the https://smartsentryai.com website (the “Service”) operated by Smart Sentry AI (“us”, “we”, or “our”).

Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users and others who access or use the Service.

By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms then you may not access the Service.

Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Smart Sentry AI and its licensors.

Third-Party Integrations & Cloud Infrastructure Services

Our Service allows you to connect smart cameras, access control hardware, and video management systems, including devices connected via the Amazon Ring Partner API (“Third-Party Services”). By enabling integrations with Third-Party Services, you agree to the following:

  • You represent and warrant that you own or have lawful authority and all necessary consents from residents, guests, and visitors to operate surveillance equipment on the property where devices are installed.
  • You acknowledge that Smart Sentry AI transmits event notifications, credentials, and video snapshots to and from such Third-Party Services to provide real-time security analytics.
  • You agree that Smart Sentry AI is not responsible for upstream outages, hardware defects, or service terminations imposed by third-party platform operators.

Smart Sentry AI engages industry-leading infrastructure subprocessors (including Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, and MongoDB Atlas) to provide secure database hosting, encrypted media storage, and serverless computing under enterprise Data Processing Agreements. All subprocessors are legally and contractually prohibited from using, retaining, or disclosing your media or personal data for any purpose other than executing the specific services contracted by Smart Sentry AI.

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by Smart Sentry AI. Smart Sentry AI has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services. You acknowledge and agree that Smart Sentry AI shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with the use of or reliance on any such content, goods, or services available on or through any such websites or services.

Advanced AI Analytics, Biometric Recognition & Vehicle Monitoring

  • Customer Control & Consent: Facial recognition features provided under our pMonitor module are disabled by default. You may only activate pMonitor through affirmative opt-in within the Camera Settings portal.
  • Permitted Purpose & Enrollment: You agree to use pMonitor solely for personal or authorized business security purposes (e.g., distinguishing authorized personnel or family members via private Safelists or Watchlists). You must manually enroll individuals by uploading reference images. Automatic harvesting or enrollment of unidentified individuals is strictly prohibited.
  • No Public or External Databases: Smart Sentry AI does not provide pre-loaded face databases and does not match customer media against external, government, social media, or commercial databases. Reference images are converted into mathematical vector templates via secure cloud APIs (AWS Rekognition) and stored in encrypted form.
  • Compliance with Biometric Laws: If you operate devices in jurisdictions governed by biometric privacy regulations (including, but not limited to, the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA), Texas Capture or Use of Biometric Identifier Act (CUBI), or European Union GDPR), you are solely responsible for providing any required statutory notices and obtaining prior written consent from any individual who may be captured by your cameras.
  • Revocation & Deletion: You may permanently delete individual face profiles at any time through the portal. Deleting an enrolled profile immediately deletes the reference image and associated biometric vector template.
  • Property-Level Scope: License Plate Recognition (LPR) provided under our vMonitor module is an optional capability designed exclusively for localized property access control, private parking monitoring, and perimeter security.
  • Prohibition on Cross-Location Surveillance: LPR data collected through your devices is strictly isolated to your individual account via Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC). Smart Sentry AI strictly prohibits, and our technical architecture prevents, the aggregation or sharing of license plate records across multiple customer properties for the purpose of vehicle journey tracking, profiling, or mass surveillance.
  • Data Retention: Extracted alphanumeric license plate data is retained as AI-derived analytical metadata for a maximum period of six (6) months, after which it is automatically and permanently purged.

Data Retention, Human Access & Permanent Account Deletion

Unless otherwise agreed under an enterprise custom schedule:

  • Raw video clips and snapshot frames captured from connected cameras are automatically deleted after fourteen (14) days.
  • AI-derived event logs, object bounding boxes, and alphanumeric metadata are retained for six (6) months.
  • Biometric reference photos and vector templates are retained only for the active duration of the customer profile.

Smart Sentry AI maintains a strict zero-ambient-access policy. Company personnel are technically prevented from viewing customer camera streams or event snapshots during normal operations. Sentry Support personnel may only access customer monitoring dashboards if the customer explicitly invites an administrative representative via the portal’s User Management section. All such access is logged in the customer’s immutable portal Audit Trail and may be revoked by the customer at any time.

You may initiate a complete, irreversible deletion of your account and all associated surveillance data at any time via the “Delete My Data” feature in the portal. Upon confirmation:

  • All user credentials, account associations, and access tokens are permanently deleted from our databases.
  • All linked camera mappings and active integration sessions are revoked and terminated.
  • All historical snapshot images, media buffers, and AI-derived logs are permanently purged from all production storage and cache clusters.

Deleted accounts cannot be restored; subsequent use of the Service requires the registration of a new customer account.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend access to our Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.

All provisions of the Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity and limitations of liability.

Disclaimer

Your use of the Service is at your sole risk. The Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. The Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement or course of performance.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of United States without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in effect. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between us regarding our Service, and supersede and replace any prior agreements we might have between us regarding the Service.

Changes

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material we will try to provide at least 30 days notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.

By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, please stop using the Service.
